18.02b Update

We’re in BETA!

Release 18.02b was released last week. This release laid a sizable amount of groundwork for the Mycroft technology going forward and enhanced a number of features in the Mycroft stack. You can find the release notes here.

18.02b is also significant for our first Kickstarter backers. If you were a backer that put the unit on the shelf per the advanced prototype instructions, it’s time to take it off!

We’ve put together some guides for getting your Mark I to the current version.

If you’re a maker or hacker, you can install 18.02 by burning a new disk image to the Micro SD card. Instructions here.

If you don’t want to take apart your Mark I, you can do it by voice commands. Instructions are here, and a follow along video with our Director of Developer Relations, Kathy, here.

What can you expect from 18.02b?

To start, you can read the release notes here.

To get a bigger picture view of what 18.02b is, and what the Mycroft platform will look like going forward, check out this blog by our CTO. It details the foundation for various pieces of the technology and talks a little bit about upcoming milestones. There are details about our Precise Wake-Word engine, feedback loops, and skill enhancements.
