Thank you to our dedicated community for supporting us and believing in a future where we truly have control over our information. I especially want to thank our early Pre-order customers who made the production of the Mark II possible starting last December. What we’ve been able to do with your support is an important first step in realizing this vision.
Based on the extremely capable Raspberry Pi 4, the Mark II includes a host of hardware integrations including our custom-designed microphone-array, amplifier and power supply board. It has gone through extensive testing, meets FCC Class B and CE regulations, and is a sturdy device with the polish one expects from a store-bought consumer product.
But it is also a completely customizable IoT smart speaker that gives makers, tinkerers and developers unprecedented access to the software and hardware. Whether you want to customize the software, add support for your own I2C or UART devices, or upgrade the speakers to take full advantage of the 25W of power available from the amplifier, the Mark II schematics and code are totally open source.
We are excited to offer an early adopter price of $349.99 until November 30. This is an opportunity to pick up the definitive pioneer in privacy-driven, open-source voice technology before the price is listed at an MSRP of $499.99. This price is reflective of a sustainable business model as we build a foundation for further development. We’ve got so many exciting features in store, including bluetooth streaming audio, local speech-to-text and even completely off-line operation. Until then, we can’t wait to see what you’ll do with your Mark II.
